சமயத்தில், வெவ்வேறு இடங்களில் ஸ்வாமி விவேகானந்தர் ஆற்றிய உரைகளை உங்கள்
கட்டுரையின் ஒரு பகுதியாகக் குறிப்பிட்டிருந்ததிலிருந்து, அவர் இஸ்லாமிய மதத்தை
எப்படிக் கருதினார், நோக்கினார் என்பதைத் தெளிவாக உணரமுடிகிறது. அவர் அத்வைத
தத்துவத்தை நம்பியதால் அவரால் மற்ற மதங்களை வெறுத்திருக்க இயலாது. எப்போதும்,
எல்லாரையும் அவர்கள் எந்த மதத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களாக இருந்தாலும், அவர்களை சகோதர, சகோதரிகளாகவே பாவித்தார். கேரளாவில் இருந்த,
மன்னிக்க முடியாத, நியாயமற்ற, தீண்டாமைக்கும், சாதிப் பிரிவு, வேறுபாட்டிற்கும்,
அவர் கடுமையான எதிர்ப்புத் தெரிவித்தார். அவருக்கும் கூட கொடுங்கல்லூர் கோவிலில்
ஒரு கசப்பான அனுபவம் நேர்ந்தது. அவர் பிராமணர் அல்லர் என்ற ஒரே காரணத்தினாலேயே
அந்தக் கோவிலுக்குள் அவர் நுழைய அனுமதிக்கப்படவில்லை. அவருக்கு மிகவும் ஏமாற்றம்
அளித்த ஒரு சம்பவம் இது. கோவிலுக்கு எல்லோரும் வரவேண்டும் என்ற அழைப்பை முன்னிலைப்படுத்தாமல்,
ஜாதி அடிப்படையில் கோவிலுக்கு வருவோரை வெளியேற்றும் பழக்கம் கேரளாவில் இருந்ததால்தான்,
பலர் இஸ்லாமிய மதத்தையும், கிறித்தவ மதத்தையும் தழுவுவதற்கு, அது ஒரு காரணமாக அமைந்தது. ஆனால், அவர் அதை விரோதித்து புத்திமதி
கூறவில்லை. அதனல்தான் அவர் கேரளாவை, மதவெறி
பிடித்த, பித்துப்பிடித்த ஒரு இடம் என்று முடிவு செய்தார். அதன் பிறகு அவர் இந்த,
ஜாதி, மத, இன வேறுபாட்டையும், தீண்டாமையையும் ஒழிக்க அத்வைத சித்தாந்த்த்தைப்
பரவச் செய்தார். அதனால், இந்தியராகிய நாம் எந்த மதத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவராக இருந்தாலும்,
அவரை எல்லோரும் அங்கீகரித்து, நல்ல விதத்தில் புரிந்து கொள்ள முயற்சி செய்ய வேண்டும். இதே போன்று, விவேகானந்தரைப் பற்றி மற்ற மதங்களைச்
சேர்ந்த அறிஞர்கள் எழுதிய கட்டுரைகளும் அவரைப் புரிந்து கொள்ள உதவும் என்று
நம்புகிறேன்.

Congrats! For the article “Swami
Vivekanandande Islam kaazhchappaadu” (Desabhimani, dated, 16-10-2013).
Your article that consist the portion
of Swami Vivekananda speech delivered at different times in
different places clearly depicts how he considered Islam and other
religions. Since, he believed in Advaitha
philosophy, he couldn’t hate other religions.
He could consider all people invariably whatever
religion they might belong to, as brothers and sisters. But he was dead against untouchability and
caste segregation that unpardonably and unjustifiably existed in Kerala. He too had a bitter experience when he
visited Kodungallur temple. He was
denied to enter the temple, since he was not a Brahmin. He was greatly disappointed. Instead of inviting people to temple driving
them away from the temple was a practice followed in Kerala which was the
reason behind the mass conversion of people in Kerala into Christianity and
Islam. He never dissuaded them from
doing so. That was why he declared that
Kerala was a lunatic asylum of religious fanatic and he also began to propagate
the Advaitha philosophy to get cured of this untouchability, social injustice,
caste and religious segregation thereafter. Such a great personality he is! So, he should be recognized and understood
properly by all Indians, whatever religions they may belong to. I hope similar articles of the scholars from
other religions will be very helpful to understand the great Saint.
